Manchester Orchestra to record new album this summer

by mikeflanagan1

Manchester Orchestra tweeted yesterday that they would be recording (not releasing, as originally reported to AbsolutePunk.net) their follow up to last year’s Mean Everything to Nothing (which, after much internal debate, became my definitive #1 release of 2009). It seems as though Manchester has just fallen into the full swing of their new Mean Everything-era musical persona; it will be interesting to see if the next album will be an extension or a departure from their newfound monster truck engine sonic tendency. Regardless, the astronomically productive Andy Hull, with his fantastic side projects, supposed 65 unreleased albums, and numerous fuck-around mp3’s floating around the internet, has given me no reason to doubt the fetal album’s potential to be one of the best releases of 2011 (or whenever it happens to come out).
